The sixth game in the series was released in May 2003 after three postponements. Based on a completely new engine and originally named as Next Generation (Next Generation), the game does not live up to expectations. The promotion had done, especially in the last year, gave the promise of a new era in the series, but the mistakes made gave generally poor image. Sure, it was the most successful project of CORE DESIGN, but will always have a special place in the collection of Tomb Raider games.
The graphics are clearly much better than the previous games and there are tetragonopoiimenes areas. Lara looks more realistic and is designed with more polygons. The movements have remained almost the same, but there are some "obstacles" that can become irritating. There is the option to use the mouse, but the play may be made without it.
There are many new weapons and uniforms. Lara speaks with some characters in the game and the decisions made affect the player's path, but not for long. The heroine also has limited power to perform certain actions, for example climbing a wall. 3 levels have the opportunity to play with another character, Kurtis Trent, who while in office looks fun along the way realize that the slow movements in some places do not help.
It is worth noting that the music is wonderful, work Symphony Orchestra of London. The views thus divided, and there are a die-hard supporters of the game. Besides, though the stars have their bad moments.

Short summary:
The game starts at the home of Werner Von Croy who is looking obscurantist five tables for a client, the Eckhardt. It's called, then, to Lara and asks her help. Von Croy murdered by a man who invades at that time at home and Lara is accused of his death. As a fugitive now, Lara will look five tables and try to prevent the Alchemist from waking generation Nephilim responsible for a series of murders. In the course will meet with Kurtis Trent looking for the same man, but for his own, personal reasons.
For the story :
Werner Von Croy is the mentor of Lara Croft and their relationship is fully recorded in Tomb Raider 4: The Last Revelation. Note that there is a gap between the events of TR4 and TR6, regarding the fate of Lara. Officially, it has given no explanation of how he escaped from the Temple of Horus. Released, however, a book entitled The Amulet of Power, which records the events between TR4 and TR6. According to the book, Lara survived the Temple of Horus by a man. Then became involved in a new adventure in order to find an amulet. When completed the adventure, Lara went to Paris to live quietly away from everyone. He read in a newspaper that there was also the Werner, so he decided to go to find him. So begins the story and the TR6.
The creative team TR6 had originally intended to make a connection between the two games and fill the gaps through a video showing how this amulet. But the video he was not included in the game (as many indeed). The video circulated on the internet without sound, but on June 20, 2013 (the anniversary of 10 years since the release of TR6) by Peter Connelly posted on YouTube video with sound.
