The third game was released in November 1998. Compared with the previous game, the graphics are better, and the environments are upgraded with rain, snow, smoke, fog, etc. Lara wears a different outfit in every continent and except that the movements have improved, and new ones have been added.

 

The variety of enemies is great and the AI is developed. The range of the weapons are great and vehicles more than the previous game: canoe, mine car, submarine exploration machine and four-wheel motorcycle. The game ceases to be linear and middle locations (Nevada, South Pacific and London) can be played in any order.

 

Tomb Raider 3 can now download for the PlayStation 3, PSP and PSVita.

 

Short summary:

On the impact of a meteorite in Antarctica emerged four gems. When Lara started in India for the first jewel, met a scientist who informed her of the existence of three more gems.  Lara will continue searching in Nevada, in the South Pacific and London for their discovery. One fact, however, brings in Antarctica.

 

Hidden objects (known as Secrets):

In total there are 59 hidden objects throughout the game and the number in each level varies (between 1-6). They consist of packets of energy, spheres, crystals etc. Every time you spot one of these objects, a beep sounds. At the end of the level, the statistics show how many hidden objects exist at this level and how many you got, but this can be controlled by the timer during the level.

 

There is no reward if concentrations of all hidden objects one level, but if you find and 59 of the game, you will unlock the Bonus level All Hallows.

 

Saving the game:

Players of PC and MAC versions can save the game as many times and anywhere they want. For the version PlayStation, players can save game when find a crystal. Unlike the first game, the crystals are visible in versions PC and MAC, but act like small packets of energy.

 

Additionally levels:

The third game is not Gold version as the previous two, but released an extension which was independent from the game and contained 6 levels called The Lost Artifact.
